Short Stories : Burning Tears (Chapter 1) |
Part 1
It was dark and it smelled of mold. The air was stale and small rivulets of water made their way along the wall. The air was icy and a faint creak could be heard in the distance.
Sue awoke from deep black mists. When she opened her eyes, something brushed her face and she backed away a little in disgust. Her hand brushed the floor. It was cold and rough. She was lying on bare stones. Sue straightened up a bit with difficulty. Her fingers touched her forehead. A heavy hammering rang in her head. Slowly the black mist disappeared and the memory returned. But how did she get into this dungeon?
Sue and her friend Karen had gone to Finland on vacation. Just get to know the country and its people and have fun, that was their motto. The last thing she could remember was that she and Karen were on our way to Helsinki. On the way they stopped for something to eat. The bar looked pretty shabby, but they'd entered anyway. There they met two guys. They had introduced themselves as George and John. Sue had found something strange about them. But since Karen was apparently enthusiastic about them, she hadn't wanted to say anything more. After they had talked for a long time, they began to tip Jägermeister. They made a game out of it. Whoever lost had to drink a glass on ex. Several glasses had been emptied in this way. Although Sue had been uncomfortable and both of them had a gloomy mood, she hadn't said anything. Her friend had had a great time.
And now she was here. The time in between was obliterated. There was a yawning emptiness in her brain. Sue whispered her friend's name in the dark, but she got no answer. Terror spread through Sue. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead and her breathing became harder. She had to get out of here somehow.
She slowly pulled herself up against the wall until she was standing on her feet. Carefully she felt her way along the wall. The dungeon wasn't very big and there was absolutely nothing in it.
Sue slowly felt her way forward. Suddenly her fingers gripped a door handle. Her heart was beating faster. With a trembling hand she pressed the handle and opened the door. Sue opened her eyes in shock and a scream came from her throat. A pale-looking bald man stood in front of her. Wrapped in the pale light of the moon ...
Sue just wanted to scream, but her throat was tight. All the color had drained from her face and she was struggling to keep herself on her feet. The bald man grabbed her arm and prevented her from falling over. He now pulled her all the way out into the corridor. His cold fingers cupped her elbow and he now urged her down the hall. "Where do you want to go with me? Where am I? Who are you?" Sue tried desperately to escape the hard grip. The man pulled her further down the dark hallway. There were cobwebs everywhere and it was dusty. The air was filled with the scent of death. The man stopped and stared at her with his cold eyes. He eyed her.
"My name is Paul and I will take you upstairs. You will find out everything else later." She couldn't see any emotion in his face. He stared at her for a moment before dragging her further down the hall.
It seemed an eternity before they reached a large heavy door. Paul pushed them open and pushed them inside. The room was also gloomy, only dimly lit by a few candles. In the middle was a large table with several chairs. Paul pushed Sue towards it and motioned for her to sit down. She had no choice but to obey this order. He turned and left the room without further comment. The heavy door closed behind him.
The room was medium in size with thick black curtains covering the windows. A heavy chandelier hung over the table, but it wasn't burning. Several candles gave off a faint and frightening light. Sue was alone in this room. At least that's what she thought when suddenly a figure emerged from the darkness and came towards her. Sue felt that she was no longer alone and turned around. She stared into Georg's pale face, whose lips had a malicious grin.
"You?" Sue didn't recognize her own voice at that moment. Georg sat down and moved close to her. "Yes, I did. Didn't you expect?" He looked into her eyes, wide with fear, and slid a little closer. "Your friend Karen gave us a lot of pleasure. But unfortunately she was a bit shy ..."
"What have you pigs done to her?" Sue wanted to hit Georg, but he held her hand with an iron grip. He grinned again and made a disparaging gesture. "We didn't do anything to her. She just didn't want to stay." Georg stood behind her now. He grabbed her hair and pulled her head back. His tongue traveled down her throat, leaving a cold chill on her skin. "But it will be different with you." He pressed his hard lips to her warm mouth. Sue tried desperately to fight back, but he was too strong for her. His other hand went lower. He wanted to pull up her shirt and run his greedy fingers over her body. Sue begged: "Please, don't ..." But Georg did not let go of her. Suddenly the door flew open and a voice said "no".
Georg let go of Sue and stared at the door.
A tall man stood in the doorway. Since he was standing in the dark, Sue couldn't see his face. But at that moment she was grateful to him. Finally he had been able to stop Georg from doing what he did. Georg paced back and forth nervously and looked ashamed at the floor. He felt caught and was now annoyed with himself that he had not approached it wiser.
"Damn you again!" he hissed towards the door. His eyes were venomous at the tall figure that still stood motionless in the doorway. "You can never have a little fun." Full of anger, Georg kicked a chair, which crashed to the floor.
"You know He would never allow you to do that. So don't cause unnecessary trouble." The figure slowly emerged from the darkness and came towards her. "Georg, be sensible. You know what else he's doing to you." Sue suddenly recognized John in the candlelight. Beard stubble emphasized the hard lines of his chin and his dark eyes, whose gaze kept moving back and forth between Georg and Sue, did not reflect anything of his thoughts. Sue couldn't say anything at first. She should really have thought; where one is, the other cannot be far. Sue wanted to jump up and run out. But something paralyzed her in this chair. Georg was still panting contemptuously. "It would be better if you go now and calm down again." John's voice brooked no contradiction. Georg noticed that he couldn't do anything here. Annoyed, he left the room without giving Sue another look. He let the door slam into the lock.
John looked at Sue and gently touched her cheek. "Are you okay?" Sue slowly regained her self-control. "What the hell ..." John put a finger to her mouth. "I know Sue, you are angry and want to know where you are here and, most importantly, why."
John's features now softened and he seemed genuinely concerned about her well-being. Sue relaxed a little. She felt safer in his presence, although some doubt remained and gnawed at her. Could she really trust John or was he playing a double game here?
