CHAPTER 4

The mysterious island

When Martin was fit again, it continued. We flew to Poland on a plane and then on to a small island near Sweden. It landed, but not on an airfield, but on a field. The 7 of us were the only ones to get out and were apparently alone on this island. There were houses there, but nobody lived there anymore. It was very strange.

First everyone went into a house to see if they could sleep there. But all roofs were leaking. And it seemed hopeless to cover them again because they were so broken that it would have taken at least 2 days for each roof. But then Martin had an idea and said, "I have it. We are looking for straw and at least cover a roof with it. ”Everyone said that it was a great idea.

So we went looking for straw and found it in large quantities. When everyone had collected enough, it went to work. Everyone helped and after 10 hours it was done. Afterwards there was something to eat. Anika was cooking that day. There was spaghetti with tomato sauce. It was delicious.

Then we explored the island bit by bit. The further we progressed, the more mysterious and exciting it became. Birds no longer chirped. It was scary. Fortunately, we had Max and Lisa with us. There was silence for a long time. But suddenly shots were fired. Jette said, "Did you hear that? Apparently we're not alone on the island. ”Everyone agreed.

We were happy. But this joy didn't last long. It turned out that it was

Were robbers who shot there.

When we overheard them, the equipment fell down. The robbers heard that and were chasing us. We ran as fast as we could. Suddenly Jenny stumbled and could not get up in time. Everyone kept running. Only when the houses were in sight did we notice that Jenny was missing.

- Where could she be? Did you take the robbers with you? If so, where to? -

We didn’t know.

Everyone was shocked. We had to save her. So it went back again. After about an hour, we found her. Jenny couldn't move because the robbers had tied her up.

Jette had a plan and said, "When it gets dark, we'll free her." So it happened. But the liberation turned out to be more difficult than we thought, as it seemed that the robbers were waking up again and again. But everything went well.

In the field we noticed that Jenny's equipment was still in the robbers' camp. So we went back to get them. That almost made us fatal, since Martin and Lisa stepped on the paw and she almost started to howl. Fortunately for us, she didn't.

When we finally had the equipment, we went back to our house. Max and Lisa fell asleep immediately. But we were still talking about the day. Then, around 11.30pm, we also slept soundly. Everyone slept until noon.

The sun laughed, the birds chirped and it was very warm. Evelyn startled when she looked at the clock. Excitedly she shouted: "People! Wake up! We slept through half the day! ”Everyone got up immediately. Martin had to be particularly quick since it was his turn to cook today. But nothing should come of the food.

While Martin was cooking a noodle soup, we were gathering wood and berries. When everyone was back on the way back, Anika suddenly shouted: "Help me! I fell into a hole and can't get out on my own! ”Then it was quiet. ...

.. But it wasn't long before Anika said, "Wait a minute. Please come all down. Bring our equipment and dogs as well, because I'm pretty sure I've found a secret passage to a treasury. ”

After she said that, we ran back to Martin as quickly as we could and told him everything. He jumped up straight away, grabbed the things and started racing. We didn’t even follow after Max and Lisa were still with us. When everyone got to the hole, he was already down.

Anika and Martin took the dogs from us. Then we climbed in. When everyone was down, it started. We could hardly believe our eyes because the huge door of a treasury lay in front of us. It was just waiting to be opened by us. Until then, great caution was required, as traps were sure to be built into the walls. - So it was, because Jenny accidentally came against them. Suddenly arrows shot from one side to the other. They almost hit us and as if that wasn't enough, the walls moved towards each other. Now we had to run to avoid being crushed. When we got to the door everything was fine. Almost everyone was through the door. But suddenly the earth started to shake. Everything threatened to collapse.

When it was Evelyn and Anika's turn, they were hit by a large stone on the foot.

They were able to save themselves at the last second before the passage was completely buried. When they both got back on their feet, it continued. After 10 minutes of walking we saw him: "The greatest treasure in the world." Everyone was happy. But we didn't quite have it yet, because there was still a big gorge ahead of us, which everyone had to overcome first.

Hot lava simmered below, it was hot and there were only ropes to cross the abyss. But there was still a problem. This was because Martin was afraid of heights and didn't want to go over the abyss. But he was brave and said, "I'll do it." So it started.

Max and Lisa jumped into one of the backpacks and let themselves be carried over. We were just in the middle of the bridge when suddenly lava shot up. The ropes caught fire. Now it was time to run over there. At the very last second everyone reached the other end of the bridge. When that was done, we first rested.

Martin has lost his fear about this. He was very happy about that.

The treasure was not far from us. We only had to cross a flat path. Then he lay in front of us. Everyone pounced on him. Everyone took as much as they could carry. Suddenly the earth started to shake, the passage collapsed completely and the treasure disappeared. We seemed lost because there was nowhere to go outside. At least nobody saw a way.

Everyone wondered why it all happened. For a long time neither of us had an idea. But after about 2 hours Jette had the answer. She cried: "I got it! It can be the Plattenweg. ”Everyone said:“ You could be right. ”When Martin took a step to the left, the treasure came back. We were very happy about that. But now an exit had to be found. But that turned out to be difficult.

We split up. After about 4 hours Evelyn called: "I think I have found an exit." At first we didn't find her because she didn't say anything else. But suddenly she screamed: "Help me a giant spider comes towards me. I'm behind the treasure! ”Everyone ran to her to save her.

When we arrived everyone was amazed at the animal that they saw. Martin said what the others were thinking. Because he said, "Wow! I've never seen a giant spider like this. It is definitely 3 to 4 meters tall. ”Despite the astonishment, they did not forget that they wanted to save Evelyn. But that should be more difficult than planned. This was expressed by the fact that no matter what they did to save Evelyn, nothing helped. The spider struggled with all its might.

Suddenly she grabbed us and dragged everyone into her cave. At that moment everyone thought that we were lost forever. - Can everyone get free?

- Can you defeat this spider?

- If yes how?

...It was terrible. Martin took out his minicomputer, typed something in and after about 2 minutes said: “She is the guardian of the treasure. According to a legend, the spider has been guarding it for 200 years. And you can only defeat them with fire. ”Jenny asked:“ Does anyone have matches or a lighter? ”Martin called out that he had matches. That was great. And there was enough wood around there. Now we started to light a fire. But that turned out to be difficult. After about half an hour it was done. Now all we had to do was get the spider to come in our direction. After that, 2 people had to push them into the fire. Said and done.

It took us about an hour to defeat the spider.

The treasure was free. But what we didn't see yet was that a door opened that led outside. Suddenly...

.. What everyone saw was scary. None of us had ever seen anything like it. Evelyn asked: "What is that bright light? Where does it come from? It illuminates the whole room! "Jenny called:" It comes from the direction of the treasure! "- Was that the salvation? Would we finally see daylight again?

Everyone decided to follow the light to the very beginning. After 5 minutes it was done. We had freedom again.

Now everyone was resting. Then we thought about how to get down from the island.

For a raft, you would need wood. But the next forest was about 20 km away from us. So we considered further. Suddenly you saw something swimming towards us. Jette asked: "What is it?" Martin replied: "We don't know either."

But less than 10 minutes passed until everyone was smarter. In front of us was a wooden garden shed. Anika said, "This is our salvation." She was right. But we had to wait until the sea was calm. And that could take some time.

In the meantime, everyone was thinking about where to go next. Martin said: "We could go to Greenland."

Said and done. After 2 days the storm was over. Now it started. But it shouldn't be a quiet ride. We soon noticed that.

Everything was fine up to half the distance. Suddenly...

..Why did we suddenly turn in circles so quickly? What was that?

Everyone was thrown around. We kept turning faster and faster. It was just terrible. Everyone screamed and the dogs howled.

After 1 hour Martin calmed down and called: "Now stop screaming again. It won't be bad. ”But we didn't listen to him, since he had screamed too.

Suddenly everyone was quiet because the house was no longer spinning. Everyone thought that everything was over.

We wanted to get out to see what was going on. Anika tried to open the door. But she was stuck. Now everyone helped. But the door didn't want to open.

We started to panic because the oxygen was running out. And this fear should also be justified, since everyone should spend a long time down there.
